11/12/10 I worked with Rachel, Chianne, and Jessika on our "About Me" paragraph. We worked on what else we could add, punctuation, and capitalization. We all found mistakes in each others. I had fun with this because I got to work with friends, and write a paragraph about me and what I like to do.
11/23/10 I think the hardest thing in math or pre-algebra is solving a variable equation that has mostly variables in it. For example: (Y=(X/5)= -4). I think this is hard because you dont know what any of the variables are equal to. Sometimes these problems are very easy, but sometimes, like this one, they are difficult.
The four operations and their signs.
The function of parentheses.
"Terms" vs. "Factors"
Powers and Exponents.
The order of Operations.
Values and Evaluations.
Variables.
Writing Equations.
A video elplaining how to Simplify Algebraic Expressions
12/9/10 On Study Island, I worked on 10 questions in the 7th grade Algebraic Expressions. My grade was an AD (advanced). I got one problem wrong. This is the ones that I missed:
If x = 4 and y = -2, what is the value of the expression below? 3x - 6(-y) - xy
1/3/11- 1/7/11 We did a lot in our group this week from January 3 to January 7. On Monday, we found games that helped us on Illuminations. On Tuesday we worked on our Prezi, and got a lot done. We also tried to upload our Glogster on our MEWiki page. On Wednesday we mostly worked on Illuminations, but we worked on Prezi a little bit. On Thursday we tried to figure out our presentation on Illuminations. We found a good game that has to do with what we are working on. It is call Pan Balance- Expressions. The link: http://illuminations.nctm.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ID=10. On Friday, we worked on our Prezi presentation for our Illuminations game. This is all that we did this week!

In my group, I worked with Rachel, Chianne, and Jessika. We worked on Simplifying Algrebraic Expressions. We watched two videos, played a game, and did practice problems. I found a video, Chianne found a video, and Rachel found the game and the practice problems. We decided that my video and Rachel's game helped us the best. Here is the link for my video:
